The Local Area

Weston Hall borders the village of Weston, just five miles north east of Stafford - close to the motorway network yet surrounded by open countryside.

It is just a short distance from Cannock Chase - an area of outstanding natural beauty with cycling, walking and horse-riding opportunities available.

The Shire Hall Art Gallery in Stafford overlooks the market square, and the Ancient High House is the largest remaining timber-framed Elizabethan town house in England. Stafford Castle hosts an annual programme of productions including Shakespearean plays, music events and historical activities.

Close by, Shugborough Hall is the ancestral home of Lord Lichfield. It has a working farm and museum, and hosts annual music concerts and firework displays.

Staffordshire's market towns provide excellent shopping opportunities - visit Leek, Burton on Trent and Newcastle under Lyme for crafts and antiques.

Stoke on Trent is home of the award winning Wedgewood Visitor Centre - a national tourist attraction which includes a Wedgwood shop selling a wide selection of pottery from their range.

Uttoxeter Racecourse is only a short distance away, and hosts regular horse race meetings throughout the year.

For thrill seekers, the famous Alton Towers theme park is just a 45-minute drive from Weston Hall.
